EagleEagles are large birds of prey which are found especially in Eurasia and Africa. In North America there are two species: the Bald and Golden Eagle. There are also some eagle species in Central and South America, and in Australia. Bald Eagles are found in habitats that include open water such as lakes, marshes, seacoasts and rivers. Eagles are powerful birds with sharp tallons and a sharp bill. They have keen eyesight and can spot prey from a very long distance. In the USA, the Bald Eagle is a national symbol of justice, strength and fairness. Scientists divide eagles into four groups: fish eagles, snake eagles, booted eagles, and harpy eagles.
